If you’re commuting to and from New York City via Raritan Valley train line, we wish we had better news for you this year. Amtrak has announced track work through May that gives you another reason to wish the spring season would arrive sooner.

Good news is, NJ Transit provides other commuting options that help you get around the track work. We’ve mapped out a couple of alternatives for you that gets you into the city on express buses. And feel free to continue to use them even after the maintenance work is done. It’s our gift to you!

113X – via North Ave through Fanwood, Scotch Plains, Westfield, Garwood, Cranford and expresses via Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike to Port Authority Bus Terminal.

114X – via Front Street, Mountain Avenue, Route 22 through Scotch Plains, Mountainside, Springfield, Union and expresses via Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike to Port Authority Bus Terminal.
